Yep, you read that right. While Delhi’s famous farm weddings were a favourite for celebrities and every couple, they may just be done and dusted. Thanks to this latest government ban, these pretty paradises may just be busted! We all know this Diwali the Supreme Court banned the sale of fire crackers. While this was a good idea and we all (well, almost) were overjoyed. However, alongside this, the government dropped another bomb (pun intended) on the Delhi peeps and this is the kind you aren’t going to like. In the bid to clean up the air in the capital, the court ruled against the use of diesel generators. Wondering why we care? Umm.. how exactly do you think farms and hotels power all those pretty lights at any wedding? See now you care, don’t you? So, we’re wondering, Could this ban mean the end of Farm house weddings in delhi ? *eyes wide open* NOOOOOOO!!! 😱😮
The Generator Ban and what that means for Farm House Weddings in Delhi ⬇︎
Since weddings at farms mean you ABSOLUTELY need a generator to power the lights, music etc. this ban is rather scary for farm house venues. In fact, a lot of the farms are returning advances and cancelling (some even last minute) these Big Fat Farm Wedding because they don’t have any in-house power facilities to support the millions things you need to achieve weddings that look stunning unsocial feeds!
YIKES! These brides are obviously hunting for another dream location *shudder*. After demonetisation and the Lok Sabha bill for weddings, this is the third slam on weddings in a little over a year, but hey, don’t fear, we always have solutions for you here 😊
What should you do if you believe in the dream of Farm House weddings in Delhi still?
If you’re a bride-to-be who had booked a farm which later cancelled, we know its hard to keep calm! Here’s a silver lining for you-the generator ban will only be implemented in Delhi and NOT the rest of the NCR regions too. So hurry & look for an alternative in NCR, we’re sure you’ll find something that’s not too far 😇
For those yet to book and dead set on farms, ‘coz lets face it, they have their own charm; there’s a few out there that are equipped to deal with weddings without the external generators, however not all, are so make sure you double check before booking the venue, the ban is in place till 15 march 2018, mind you 😥
We hope this helps all you brides out there and get that dream wedding you always wanted still!
