1. Décor & Photographers

Erm… No matter how minimal or extensive, that dream look and feel  you wanted just got 3% more expensive. Yikes!!

Damn, Hosting all them relatives in 5 stars and fine dining restaurants now means higher bills. Guess we’ll just have to relay on more humble abodes and mom’s home cooked dinners for them luxury thrills!  Sorry girls 😓

3. Salon Services & MUAs

The salon taxes just increased from 15% to 28%. Yikes! But there isn’t much you can do about this, because it’s your wedding and you have to get your make-up done (unless you have a friend who is an MUA and is willing to reduce her charges *puppy dog eyes*)

4. Fab Footwear

Any shoes above Rs. 500 will be taxed at 18% Damn!

PSST! If you know your size well enough and have a standard size foot, order online and get it delivered to relatives/friends house abroad 😜 *logs into ASOS*

5. Precious Jewellery 💍

Damnit! The tax on gold and diamond jewelry just went up to 3% 😓

Budget Hack – taxes on costume jewelry reduced to 12%. So maybe opt for costume jewellery to get by,  try to be a little sly 😇

6. Courier Services 💌

Courier services just got a little expensive, so choose light weight invites and think about those mithai boxes you wanted to send out with the cards!

7. Honeymoon Hassles – Business class tickets ✈️

We’ve all dreamt of that perfect honeymoon. The one time you MUST have everything first class. Well, the GST on business class just went up! However, economy class travel just got cheaper, and if you are anything like us, travel economy but look at the brighter side – this just means more money for duty-free shopping 😎

The Taxes on a lot of food products went down, you can TRY and negotiate with your caterer for a discount no matter how much he frowns. take whatever silver lining you can get!

9. Alcohol

Whoohooo 💃🏻! Alcohol is not under GST yet (Phew!!!)  so we’re pigging out on this you bet! However, beer (Bira included:P) and aerated drinks might be getting more expensive. So skip the mocktails, and just pour champagne for everyone!

10. Clothes
