Planning your wedding? Then Ladies you MUST stop everything you’re doing and hear this out! We caught up with the decor diva of weddings in India, none other than Veteran wedding & décor specialist Ms. Geeta Samuel. She reveals some nifty tips on trends in Indian weddings this season! YAY! 😎

ABOUT GEETA SAMUELS

As the leading lady at Q events, one of India’s biggest wedding companies, noted for its large scale productions and ‘never before seen’ concepts like the ‘Ganga Aarti’ where she re-created the sacred city of Benaras with a whooping  240 feet long water body complete with candlelit ‘ghats’ leading into the holy Ganges! Holy Moly!

Another recent spectacle to Q Events’ credit was a 40 feet ice castle as a wedding backdrop, a wedding which recreated New York’s Times Square and the Santorini Island in Greece!

So take notes ladies, this decor specialist is clearly notorious for setting new trends in Indian weddings for decor and design!

We asked caught up with her at the ICWF 2016 and asked for her take on Trends in weddings this year ⬇︎

TRENDS IN WEDDINGS THAT BRIDES MUST GET IN ON

“Last year everything had moved away from the opulent. But, I find now the opulence is coming back in a grander way! Trends for myself,  I am being inspired by festivals a lot this year” Ahem! all brides planning their decor – take a cue ✏️ ” The Burning Man is one of them”

In her opinion this year, the boundaries of decor will be pushed by more awareness in clients (that’s you!) resulting in unconventional themes – hence the Burning Man! Besides this, She suggests a greater bling quotient with the return of opulence. So cue in rich deep hues like crimson, cerulean, burgundy and emerald – think Jewel tones. Of course, when Geeta Samuel says it, it is automatically a trend. Thus, Opulence it is!

ONE TREND THAT IS HERE TO STAY

“One Trend that is here to stay is that the entertainment bit has now become so large, it’s definitely here to stay”

True That! Because international décor trends are influencing Indian weddings more so now than ever before, expect a global touch to everything! From signage to structures, from decor to food and of course entertainment! Thus you can look at international entertainment styles and add to them an Indian twist – aka a bit of the quintessential Bollywood! More and more couples are going for international acts coupled with a Bollywood after party to the grandeur of the celebration.🎤

Budget Hack –  International fusion can also be a relaxed coke studio fusion flavour for a sufi style sangeet 💗
