On your wedding day, ALL eyes will be on you. So when you make your grand entrance, and moving in your lehenga is a struggle, it WILL show!🙈 It shouldn’t just look elegant but also allow be graceful on the move. When you’re are trying on the wedding lehenga, make sure you move around enough in it to be able to walk the aisle and so much more! After all, an Indian wedding isn’t a walk in the park, it’s the whole damn forest that goes on for miles 😜!

Take a Seat, Strike a pose

Have you ever bought a pair of jeans without sitting in them, no right? The same goes for your wedding dress! While this may be tailored exactly to your requirements, try every pose in the book ‘coz the dress needs to be comfy in every cranny and nook! 😇 On the big day you’ll need to do everything short of running a marathon – go in and out of the car, sit, dance, twirl, fly (be lifted up high for the jaimalas 😋), circle around (pheras) – all this with a super heavy dress on!

P.s. – When you really move about in embroidered blouses they prick the exposed skin. Try a quarter or full sleeve instead, it reduces exposure and they’re quite frankly very in! 😍

When a girl’s gotta pee, a girl’s gotta pee – even if she is wearing a crazy heavy lehenga with layers and layers of can can. You’ll want a dress that makes minimum loo mess. Don’t do the deed but at wedding dress trial do a trail washroom run in the d day dress!

While you need to carry your heels to ensure it’s length matches your bridal lehenga, don’t forget you’ll have to take them off and WALK for the pheras. So, try your dress both with heels and without to make sure the length of your lehenga skirt is heel AND barefoot friendly without a doubt!

Shaper wear struggles

Always try your lehenga with the shape-wear and lingerie for the big day at least once in advance. If you’re squeezed in too right, you’ll be a sitting duck waiting to explode at the end of the night! Seriously, it’s not worth the struggle. You might be able to only suck in about an inch, but you will be super uncomfy thanks to that pinch! You want to look hot but NOT bothered 😜😈

Consider the Weather

Check the forecast for the wedding day, if there’s even a chance of a cool breeze, make sure you can handle that with fashionable ease. Have something that you can bundle up in and keep stay warm. If the bridal lehenga is pretty but you’re uncomfortably freezing, it’ll loose its charm. Plan a wrap or a cute jacket to top off your dress. (We’ve all been a inspired by the leather paired with Sonam Kapoor’s lehenga, haven’t we? 💖)

There, you’re now armed to handle the big, fat and LONG Indian wedding hours, while still looking pretty and feeling fab in your wedding outfit! 😍

xx
