The bride tells her love tale: “Adhirath and I met at business school. We were those type of friends who were always told – ‘There is something between you two right?”. We denied it for quite a bit. Until, we travelled to Italy for our exchange semester and during this one trip to Nice. Here we both realised – maybe it was true all along. Then, we went to Bali and I proposed to him! I created a ‘Whatsapp Mob’ where 200 people messaged him – ‘will you marry me’ at the same time. He was so shocked and when he turned towards me I was sitting down on one knee with a ring 🙂

“We wanted the wedding to be warm and thoughtful. We were far away from doing anything over the top. We just wanted everyone to have a good time and feel involved. Our dance performances included practically everyone. My parents outdid themselves – my mom made 1200 Mehendi bangles as favours, and my dad sang my bridal entry song. We wanted a winter day wedding so that everyone can enjoy the sun. Guests could sip some bellinis and be there for the pheras and vidai. It was like a fun garden party, full of joy. We called Gymkhana club’s retro singer who sang oldies but the goldies 🙂 “

Adhirath wore a soft Manish Malhotra sherwani at the wedding, while Vibhuti was a Sabyasachi bride. Both of them wanted to colour coordinate, so the sherwani he chose fit perfectly with the decor and her outfit!

On hunting for her wedding lehenga the bride opens up about her thoughts. ” I picked up my lehenga from Aza, Mumbai. It was the first lehenga I tried on and it’s the one I picked up! I loved it because it was timeless, and I cannot imagine it going out of style ever. Years later I can open my wedding photos and still feel in style. A sabyasachi lehenga for me is a work of art, so wearing his work on my wedding was a dream come true!”
