Lockdown Weddings That Gave Us 8 Major Budget Décor Ideas for Indian Weddings

This year has taught us a lot of things about Indian weddings. From how to host a wedding with just 50 guests, to opting for more sustainable budget options, 2020 brides have done it all. And they have done it BEAUTIFULLY! Yup, not only did the lockdown brides fill their wedding with love, they also gave us major décor goals, that too on a budget! So, here are some budget décor ideas and things to steal from lockdown weddings for your own!

Budget Décor Ideas From Lockdown Weddings For Your Intimate Indian Wedding At Home

Here are our favorite décor ideas we spotted at lockdown weddings in 2020, giving us major inspiration, while staying in our budgets for the occasion!

Minimal Mandaps – To String Your Relationship!

Minimal is the new luxury! 2020 weddings had some beautiful mandaps, with minimal décor and stunning backdrops. No more bulky four pillared structures! Our favourites were the marigold string backdrops from The Ganesh wedding!

Foil Balloons

If ‘less is more’ is your bridal mantra, then cute foil balloons are made just for you. Pair them with flowers or fairy lights to amp up the décor and those wedding vibes just like lockdown bride Anmol did for her roka function!

Green Walls For A Rosy Couple Backdrop

Oh, how much we love a green plant wall adorned with beautiful flowers. Use these stunning creations to have a beautiful backdrop for your wedding ceremonies like Swati did for her roka. Indoors or outdoors plant walls will never disappoint you for sure!

Potted Plants

A more sustainable approach to decorate your shaadi ka ghar. Potted plants and flowers just fill our homes and hearts with love & joy. They not only add much needed colours to the wedding décor, and if Ritu Ganesh’s wedding is any indication, they look super adorable for sure!

PS – they also work as fabulous centrepieces and favours for your guests!

Marigold, for your budget décor

We love genda phool to decorate your wedding place to make it a happy vibrant space. These little flowers can be used in multiple ways and look pleasing to eyes with bright hues, giving us the happy vibes.

Neon Signages

Neon signs are our favorite, TBH! Be it your wedding hashtag or a cheesy love quote, all look good in a neon signage! Add it your existing green wall, or just use it as a hanging for backdrop, they’ll look lit, literally! It’s the easiest way to amp up your wedding décor on budget!

Bring your Indoors Outside

If you are also a big fan of open spaces like us, then, we’d recommend you use your garden, terrace or even your balcony for wedding functions. Get your cozy drawing room furniture to your garden and create an outdoor lounge for everyone! We love how Rana Daggubati & Miheeka did this for their engagement function beautifully so!

Fabrics for backdrops

A good backdrop can turn any wall into a fantastic photo booth. If you’re not into flowers or lights then fabrics will work wonders for you! Add any print or pattern in the colours that match the entire décor and fit in budget like blogger bride Bhavdeep did with Phulwari dupattas for her haldi!

Do tell us in comments below which décor ideas are your favorite!

xoxo
